Briefing

Tunnel Jacks is like the children’s game of jacks. Doing a tunnel is the “bounce”. All of the jumps are “jacks”. After the “bounce” (doing the tunnel), the dog must “pick up” the appropriate number of jacks. The dog will bounce then score onesies, bounce and twosies, bounce and threesies, and so forth until time expires.

On any fault the dog must bounce again (do a tunnel) and retry the pickup. If the dog enters a tunnel with more or less than the correct number, the judge will call fault and the dog must retry that pickup. A dropped bar is a fault, and the jump is subsequently out-of-play.

Course time is 50 seconds. Time begins when he first enters a tunnel. The end-of-time whistle ends scoring only; the clock continues to run until the dog goes to the table. After the time whistle, there will be no fault and no points for the dog taking additional obstacles on the way to the table to stop time.

Tunnel Jacks is scored Points, Then Time. The dog the number of his last complete pick-up plus any partial performance converted to a decimal. A dog having scored “foursies” and two jumps when the whistle blows, will earn a score of 4.2.
